Cassis, black cherries, cedar and brown sugar notes appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is rather streamlined, focused and restrained, with a sense of elegance and ample length on the finish. The most rare and beloved Trefethen Cabernet Sauvignon is smooth and fresh. Aromas of ripe raspberry with notes of pepper, bay leaf, and a touch of sasparilla. On the palate, this is a dark, dense Trefethen HALO Oak Knoll District Napa Cabernet, with layers of plum and raspberry, and notes of baking spices and tobacco. The finish is sustained and powerful.
FOOD AFFINITIES
This robust wine pairs exceptionally well with highly marbled steak, like Winery Chef Chris' Tomahawk Ribeye.
