An attractively floral cabernet with violet and dried-rose notes, as well as dried leaves, forest wood, mint and wet earth. The fruit sits in the blackcurrant, blueberry and purple-cherry zone. A succulent palate with ripe but fine, long tannins, carrying plenty of purple and blue-fruit flavors. Classically Australian in character and delivered with an impressive eye to elegance. Drink or hold.
Wine Tasting Notes
A plethora of Cabernet characters seemingly bursting from the glass, with typical notes of blackcurrant, violets and cedar enhanced by a twist of mint and herb from the cooler vintage. The palate is streamlined and focused. No blousiness here, just a beautiful line of fruit, some sweetness, a hint of chocolate and raspberry perhaps with a nutty savory edge. Tannins are chalky and long but the lasting impression is one of fruit. A style of Cabernet that one may not expect from McLaren Vale but extremely true to its varietal heritage.
