Wine Advocate Review Rated 91 The 2009 Barolo shows soft, enduring intensity with dark cherry and blackberry with licorice, spice, leather and tar. It paints a classic portrait of the vintage with fruit that is elegant but a little on the ripe side. The mouthfeel makes a nice impact thanks to the soft, supple mature of the tannins. Drink: 2015-2024.
Wine Tasting Notes Garnet-red in color with ruby shades. An intense perfume with clean scents of spices, vanilla, roasted hazelnuts, liquorices, cacao and wild rose. A full, elegant flavor, austere and good-bodied, with recurring olfactory sensations. The hints of spices and of wood blend perfectly. Thanks to its big structure, this wine combines exceptionally well with main courses of red meats, braised dishes and game in general. An ideal accompaniment for cheeses.
