Wine Spectator Review Rated 92 Sweet, with luscious apricot, peach compote and golden raisin held up by a well of latent acidity that drives the spice, chalk and candied lemon zest notes on the long finish. Drink now through 2020.
Wine Tasting Notes Medium gold in appearance, with a fine, fresh bouquet of orange peel and flowers. On the palate it has an excellent balance, the sweetness being offset by fine acidity. There are flavors of tropical fruit and oranges with a great length. This is a perfect example of a five puttonyos wine.
Serve slightly chilled (50 to 54 degrees) in a small port glass or a glass of similar size (there are approximately eight two-ounce servings per 500ml bottle). Tokaji Asz wines are wonderful on their own as an apritif or as a digestif, with cigars and petits fours. These wines also pair well with a wide variety of foods, including foie gras, fruit tarts, chocolate desserts, and blue and soft cheeses.
