James Suckling Review
This has a very rich and very ripe set of dark plums and black cherries with some spicy and tarry complexity. The palate is dense and richly fruited with a swathe of ripe dark plums, saturating the finish. Drink or hold.
Wine Advocate Review
The 2014 Quimera is a blend of different red grape varieties from old vines in different places in the province of Mendoza, Perdriel in Luján de Cuyo, Tupungato in Valle de Uco and Medrano in Maipú. It is a blend of 50% Malbec, 24% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine matures in French oak barrels (80% new) for 13 moths. It's a subtle, elegant and perfumed Mendoza blend. Drink now-2020
Wine Tasting Notes
A deeply nuanced wine, scented with notes winding from earth and boulder, the dark fruit, up to delicate rosemary hints. It is ample in the palate, with delicious and almost feminine acidity.
