Wine Advocate Review Rated 90 The 2007 West Face, a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Syrah, has a dense ruby/purple hue that is accompanied by aromas and flavors of graphite, blackberries, cassis, smoke, and toasty oak/vanillin. Rich, full-bodied, and impressively endowed, this still youthful 2007 will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring, and should drink well for 10-12.
Wine Tasting Notes Dark, concentrated aromas of blackberry syrup, baking spices and toasted oak surround flavors of warm berry pie, butterscotch and milk chocolate. Opulent roasted, caramel oak flavors come through with plentiful, silky tannins providing textural proof of this wine's ageability.
