Wine Enthusiast Review Rated 91 Santa Cecilia opens with the aromas that define the Nero d'Avola grape. There are touches of almond and Bronte pistachio, followed by blackberry, plum and cherry notes. A smoky mineral tone appears on the finish, and the wine is fresh and well structured.
Wine Tasting Notes The color is purple red and violet hue with flavors of red fruit such as plum, berries and liquorice. Hints of carobs, pepper grains, fig preserve and mustard. The palate shows elegance and compact tannins, rather than weighty. The taste spreads out from the centre of the palate, filling the mouth with its balanced texture and a certain tang. The wine is a Planeta's interpretation of Nero D'Avola. Perfect with all meats and Sicilian dishes. Wonderful with mushrooms, it withstands the oiliness of aromatic smoked hams and meats, liver and goat meats.
