Wine Enthusiast Review
Rich cherry and spicy black pepper introduce the nose to this wine from the Adelaida district. The flavors explore the more nuanced, not overly jammy side of the grape, with tart acidity and a good tannic backbone ensuring a long life. Decent now, but better to drink 2018-2022.
Wine Tasting Notes
A bright red rim and a cranberry colored core lead the way for this ripe fresh version of Zinfandel. The nose offers an aromatic arrangement of floral notes combined with steeped vanilla and fresh red and black fruits. Red currants, macerated strawberries and crushed raspberries coat the mouth. Spice notes, medium acidity and open floral tannins showcase what a low yielding, concentrated Zinfandel can achieve. This wine will continue to reveal flavors of fresh cut flowers, cinnamon and nutmeg, adding to what already promises to be a pioneering effort to display the ultimate complexity of Zinfandel.
