Wine Tasting Notes
In this vintage the blend features higher concentrations of Cabernet Sauvignon, influenced by consulting winemaker Christian LeSommer, who led Chateau LaTour for 14 of its most memorable years. Under his guidance, balance and structure of the wine was given particular attention. The wine was aged in mostly new French Oak, with one-third held back in neutral barrels. On the nose, the wine offers toasty notes of sweet oak, bittersweet chocolate, coffee and some cola. Hints of blackberry, Allspice and Juniper Berry are present, alongside an intriguing aroma of brown sugar and molasses. Upon entry, the wine offers a rich, full mouthfeel with flavors of blackberry, spice, dusty tannins and a lingering finish. This is a Sanctuary offering to remember.
