Impressive for its layered, complex flavors. Aromas of ripe plum, loam and spicy oak lead to focused, deep black cherry, pencil lead and sage flavors that take on tannins toward the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2009 through 2013.

The Coho Headwaters Red Napa Valley (81%Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot) shows off a dense purple color plus a sweet perfume of espresso, white chocolate, black cherries, and figs.
