Wine Advocate Review Rated 89 The 2008 Este is composed of 50% Monastrell, 25% Tempranillo, with the balance Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot aged for 6 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored, it reveals a lightly roasted bouquet of black cherry and blueberry, underbrush, spice box, and violets. Supple, sweetly-fruited, and forward, this tasty, friendly effort has no hard edges. Drink it over the next 3 years.
Wine Tasting Notes Cherry color with purple tones. Potent, clean, elegant and complicated on the nose. Ranges from flowers (violets), black fruit (blackberry, currents etc) until a touch of dry mountain herbs on a mineral base and toffee. Lots of red fruit (cherries, blackberries etc), well integrated with the wood (Vanilla, toffee). With volume, good structure, well balanced and rounded. Fruity after tastes, long and very agreeable. A red blend of Monastrell, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot.
