Product DescriptionWine Enthusiast Review
Sourced from the Martinelli family's Charles Vineyard out on the coast, this is a gorgeously rich and balanced white wine, whole-cluster fermented and given just less than a quarter of new French oak. Pretty, floral aromas of orange blossom pique the nose before a compelling combination of salty pretzel, ginger and lemon custard layer over a mountain of structured acidity.
Wine Spectator Review
A wine of verve, depth and texture, with a flinty stone note leading to a mix of white peach, tangerine and butterscotch. The smooth texture shows enough grip to cleanse the palate. Fancy cedar- and anise-laced oak is present, but remains appropriately in the background. Drink now.
Wine Tasting Notes
Maybe the most Burgundian Chardonnay in our portfolio, this seductive Chardonnay displays explosive aromas of lime blossom and William Pear with underlying mineral notes. On the pallet the wine displays tension between bright acidity and cool-climate structure framed with flavors of nectarine and lemon custard. This wine is delightfully elegant upon release but will continue to gain complexity with bottle age for 3 to 5 years.
