Both Syrah cuvees are very strong in 2006. The 2006 Syrah Saralee's Vineyard exhibits tell-tale tar, roasted meat, and bouquet garni aromas, intense, ripe blackberry fruit, hints of smoke and licorice, and a long, heady finish. Aged in French oak for 18 months, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this luscious, sexy Syrah should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 6-7 years.

Wine Tasting Notes
Distinctive and dramatic, this is a showcase wine. In the nose, concentrated aromas of plum, blackberry and licorice mix with a perfume of lychee nuts. Dense, ripe fruit, chocolate and roasted coffee bean flavors give the wine a captivating sweetness on the palate, reminiscent of a perfectly prepared cappuccino. With its formidable structure, chewy tannins and surprising depth, this wine integrates the essence, or terroir, of Saralee's Vineyard with the true varietal character of the fruit. It is a classic example of Syrahs beauty sweetly perfumed, voluptuously textured, and charmingly persistent.
